Smart home & low voltage
Smart switches, video doorbells, cameras, Wi-Fi and home networks. Low-voltage work (data, cameras, speakers) can be done by low-voltage specialists, but anything that connects to 120V/240V line voltage, such as smart switches, hardwired doorbell transformers or new outlets, should be done by a licensed electrician.
Examples
- โขSmart switches and dimmers (line voltage: licensed electrician)
- โขVideo doorbells and transformers
- โขSecurity cameras and PoE networking
- โขWhole-home automation and scene control
Only licensed electricians should handle line-voltage (120V/240V) work.
